I want to make new friends.
As a traditional undergraduate student, the classmates you meet at the
Student Orientation and Recreation (SOAR) might be from a rival high
school, the same community college, across the country or around the
world. Wherever they call home, you've got things to tell each other and
experiences to share. You can swim, work out or play pick-up basketball at
the Rice Center. Maybe you'll volunteer at a food shelter, plan a festival
and cheer for the Eagles basketball team with your new friends. Rock
bands, club meetings, residence hall workshops and pub parties all tempt
you to have fun.
Living in one of our single gender or coed residence halls, or
Founders' Woods apartments, can feel like an instant social life, but
commuters also find it easy to get involved by joining a club, eating
lunch with everybody at the Sodexho Services dining hall, or
hanging out at the Krasa Student Center.

"The relationships I made while attending Benedictine University
have been my foundation for learning what friendship is about and have
helped me begin my future. My friends from Benedictine were bridesmaids at
my wedding, gave me a baby shower and were there for me when I delivered
my son, and helped me move into my new house. I don't know how far I would
have gotten without them."
Lisa Moore-Jones, C96
University of Illinois at Chicago,

of Public Health, C00
"As a student, I have developed several friendships with other
students, as well as professors, through involvement with on-campus
organizations. I've been exposed to different ethnic backgrounds and
cultures with the diverse group of students at Benedictine University.
Some of these friendships will last me a lifetime."
Gabriel Nunez, senior sociology major
East Chicago, Indiana
